Real estate work has been the engine that has driven the success of our office.  Even our attorneys who do not specifically practice as real estate lawyers provide valuable support to our real estate clients.

Our real estate practice is unique in the Milwaukee market.  We are one of the few small to mid-sized firms with substantial experience in all aspects of real estate law and an expansive staff of real estate attorneys, and the only one of those firms whose shareholders gained much of their experience at larger firms.  Our attorneys understand real estate from both a legal and practical perspective.  We have assisted our clients in structuring financing for their projects and have frequently introduced our clients to investors.  Moreover, several of our attorneys have been and are principals in real estate investments, giving them a real-world insight into the needs of real estate clients.

We recognize that each client has his or her own individual needs, and we understand that value is as important as quality, service and timeliness.

We represent real estate developers, owners, contractors and occupants with all types of projects, including office buildings, medical buildings, residential and non-residential condominiums, subdivisions, hotels, apartment projects, shopping centers, industrial properties, recreational and sports properties, marinas, business and office parks and mixed-use developments.  Our clients include for profit and non-profit companies of all sizes, with an emphasis on Wisconsin real estate entrepreneurs.

We frequently assist our real estate clients with:

    • Acquisitions and sales
    • Design and construction contracts and related issues
    • Financing and equity infusions
    • Tax increment financing
    • Entity formations and related agreements
    • Condominiums and homeowners associations
    • Leasing
    • Title issues and disputes
    • Brokerage and management issues
    • Easements and negotiations with adjoining property owners
    • Negotiations with municipalities and regulatory agencies
    • Zoning, subdivision and other land use issues
    • Development agreements
    • Tax deferred exchanges
    • Riparian rights
    • Regulatory and tax advice
